Change a Chapter Christmas
Christmas Food Drops, Clothes and Gifts
Change a Chapter annually collects for donations to fund our Christmas food drop. This started in 2011 when we realised many children and their families were so poor that the children were not getting fed properly in the school holidays. That year and every year since on the 23rd and 24th of December food is taken to 50 of the most needy children and their families for Christmas. It is delivered by the school director, headmaster and the Change a Chapter local volunteers Emily and Randu.
We would like to increase our Christmas deliveries to reach more needy children at this time.
Please consider donating to our Christmas food fund to help give all the children a happier Christmas.
In 2012 Christmas gift bags were given to all the Change a Chapter sponsored children each with a new item of clothing, filled pencil cases and some sweets.
For Christmas 2013 each sponsored child also received some new clothing taken out from the UK. The children are always delighted to receive these gifts.
However, due to increasingly strict baggage allowances it has become too difficult to take out presents for all the children.
Therefore for Christmas 2014 we would like to employ a local tailor to make a new outfit for the children, a dress for the girls and new shirt and shorts for the boys. Whether this is possible is dependant on peoples generosity.
Christmas is an exciting time for any child. Children in the Western world will get given lots of presents. We at Change a Chapter would like to be able to give as many of the children as possible a gift. Traditionally in Kenya, for those that are able to afford Christmas is the one occasion in the year when a child may receive a new outfit.
Please consider helping to give a child a happier Christmas. A donation from you will enable is to put a smile of joy to a child this Christmas.
